AI in India: the useful work between the headlines
Farms and classrooms offer a practical starting point for thinking about business workflows, local context and human review.

Begin with a particular task
Associated Press reporting in February 2026 described AI-assisted farming near Karnal and exam evaluation at a Delhi coaching business. The classroom example included teacher review. These are reported experiences, not a representative estimate of productivity across India.
For a small business, the useful question is which part of a familiar task could improve. A hypothetical training center might start with collecting assignments and routing feedback. That is a different project from letting a system decide a student's result without review. Name the task before choosing the technology.
Local details are part of the product
An assignment workflow needs the correct course, language, deadline and teacher. A service request needs an address that staff can actually interpret. A beautifully written response can still be useless if the underlying record belongs to the wrong customer or branch.
Build the first version around examples from the real process, with personal details removed. Include a handwritten name, an incomplete submission and a customer who uses a different language. Ask the people doing the work to judge the result. A generic demonstration cannot establish that local details are handled correctly.
Give review a place in the workflow
Make the difference between drafted and approved visible. In our hypothetical training center, the system can prepare a feedback draft, the teacher can change it, and the student receives the approved version. Record the final decision and who made it so a correction is possible later.
Measure the review time as well as the drafting time. If staff spend longer repairing output than they used to spend writing it, a fast generation step has not improved the whole task. Keep a simple route for teachers to reject a draft and finish the work themselves.
Choose a first version you can inspect
A useful brief describes the intake, the responsible person, the approval and the stored result. Begin with administrative support before attaching consequential automated decisions. Try the process with a small set of representative examples, including the awkward ones.
Treat a country's AI story as a source of questions for your own operation. The decision to expand should depend on records from your trial: time spent, corrections needed and whether customers received the right outcome. Those observations are more useful than assuming another business's experience will transfer unchanged.
