Name the promise inside the box
Shopify documents product bundles as a capability provided through a bundles app. Before choosing an app, describe exactly what your set promises. In a hypothetical homecare shop, a starter box contains a brush, a bottle and a cloth that are also sold separately. The business problem is maintaining that promise when one component runs short. Decide whether the listing represents fixed contents or a choice among alternatives. Those are different buying experiences, and the product photograph should not imply a fixed selection when substitution is allowed.
Count the limiting component
On paper, give the shop twelve brushes, seven bottles and twenty cloths. If each set needs one of each, the example supports seven complete sets before any standalone sales. Now sell one bottle separately and ask what happens to bundle availability. Use this deliberately simple arithmetic in the software trial, then repeat it with a set requiring two bottles. Check the actual app's treatment of stock rather than assuming that a bundle price implies component tracking. Name the person responsible for investigating a discrepancy before more orders are accepted.
Decide whether substitution is acceptable
A nearly identical bottle may seem like an easy replacement to staff, but a customer may have bought the set for that exact product. Define an approval path: offer a replacement, hold the order or refund the unavailable part according to the business's published terms. Record the customer's choice against the order. If substitutions are routine, make the buying experience explicitly configurable instead of describing a fixed box. This also gives packing staff a final contents list rather than an informal instruction hidden in a message thread. Include packaging materials in the trial, because a complete set is still unshippable if its promised presentation cannot be assembled.
Check what a return means
Try returning the cloth while keeping the rest of the hypothetical set. Decide how the refund is calculated, whether the advertised bundle discount changes and how returned stock is inspected. These are policy decisions to settle with the people running the shop, then configure and communicate clearly. Test the receipt, packing list and internal record together. A bundle is ready to sell when each person sees the same contents and can explain the adjustment. An attractive product image alone cannot establish whether the operational rules are workable.
