An AI brand voice needs distinctive facts, not only adjectives

Build a reference that helps writers preserve what makes the business specific.

Generic direction can produce generic choices

The Doshi and Hauser creativity experiment links AI idea assistance with more similar outputs across participants. Applying that finding to brand work is a hypothesis, not a measured claim about every commercial writer. It is a reason to inspect whether your own instructions give the assistant enough distinctive material.

Words such as friendly, premium and innovative describe many businesses. They tell a writer something about tone but little about what the customer can actually expect. A useful brand reference should contain specific, supportable facts and choices rather than a long list of flattering adjectives.

Collect details only your business can supply

Write down how the service works, which customers it serves well and what tradeoffs it makes. Include ordinary examples: the questions staff ask before quoting, the materials they use or the conditions under which they decline a request. These details make claims more concrete.

Separate verified facts from aspirations. An ambition to respond quickly is different from an operating promise the team can consistently meet. The assistant should not turn the first into the second just because the stronger sentence sounds more persuasive.

Preserve useful customer language

With appropriate permission and handling, note how customers describe the problem they are trying to solve. Keep the wording's meaning and context. Avoid presenting an invented customer statement as a testimonial or combining several experiences into a quotation attributed to a real person.

Use this language to improve clarity, not to manufacture social proof. A service page can explain a common concern without pretending a particular customer endorsed the business.

Review for substitution

Ask whether a competitor could replace the company name and use the paragraph unchanged. If so, identify the missing operational detail. Then check that adding the detail helps the reader decide, rather than making the page longer solely to sound distinctive.

Maintain the reference as operations change

Assign someone to update the document when services, prices or delivery conditions change. Keep obsolete claims clearly retired so they do not return in a later draft. A small, current reference is easier to use than an extensive folder of contradictory descriptions.

This evidence-library approach is our editorial recommendation. It does not promise uniqueness merely because AI receives more context. It gives the owner concrete material to check and a practical way to judge whether the final writing represents the business accurately instead of repeating attractive language that could describe almost anyone.

Put it into practice.
