Make handover part of the price of an AI project in Singapore
A supplier demonstration should end with a process your own team can operate and maintain.

Procurement continues beyond the demonstration
Singapore MOM's 2026 survey examines adoption stages and initiatives that support employees using AI. These are organizational considerations, not a ranking of suppliers. They suggest a useful procurement lens: ask what the team will be able to operate after the implementation consultant has left.
A demonstration usually shows the prepared path. Your business needs a handover that covers a changing service list, a staff departure and a customer request the assistant cannot classify. Put those events into the purchasing brief so they become part of the work being priced.
Ask for an owner-run acceptance session
Arrange a session in which your employee controls the software and the supplier observes. Use examples selected by the business, including one with incomplete information. The aim is to see whether the employee understands the result and can decide when a human should intervene.
Have the employee update an ordinary business rule and check its effect. A system that requires an external specialist for every opening-hours change may still be acceptable, but its maintenance dependency should be visible. Compare that dependency with the time and budget your company can realistically provide.
Price the continuing relationship
Request separate descriptions of initial setup, staff instruction, recurring services and later changes. Ask what support includes and how an urgent problem is reported. Do not assume that a general maintenance fee covers every new workflow the business might want next quarter.
Use a scenario to compare proposals: a key supplier changes its document format, and the import process starts producing incomplete records. Establish who investigates, who confirms recovery and what the team does while the problem remains open. This makes vague support promises easier to evaluate.
Keep the handover portable
Retain a plain-language description of the process, the source information it uses and the conditions under which it should pause. Confirm that authorized staff can retrieve their business records in a usable form. Test that retrieval while the supplier is still available to explain it.
Choose the proposal whose responsibilities match the company's operating capacity, even if another demonstration shows more features. This is our purchasing framework, not a statement that one contract form is legally sufficient. A clear handover makes it easier to judge both the initial purchase and the quality of the ongoing service.
