A drawing, not a map: the real one opens below.
  1. By road

Twelve hours from Delhi on the Manali road, ten from Chandigarh; leave the highway at the Aut tunnel and follow the Tirthan up through Banjar, fifty minutes of a good road and twenty of a narrow one. The last two kilometres are a farm track: park at the temple in Nagini and our jeep brings you and your bags up. Fill the tank at Aut; there is nothing after Banjar.

  2. By bus

The overnight Volvo from Delhi to Manali stops at Aut around six in the morning; the one from Chandigarh around four. Say which bus you are on and we are at the stop with a flask and the jeep. An hour and a quarter from there to the door.

  3. By air

Bhuntar airport, outside Kullu, is an hour and three quarters away. A taxi from there is ₹3,200 and we can book it for you; the morning flight from Delhi lands at nine and you are at the inn for lunch.
